While the material is only acrylic and certainly can be washed with water and detergent, the weight and texture of the blanket makes it difficult to launder at home. Using A Washing Machine

Put blankets 1 inch thick or less in your home washing machine. Use your regular laundry detergent, but do not use bleach or fabric softener. Use cold water to protect the blanket's color. Also, use the most gentle cycle available, such as hand wash or delicate.
